Entertaining is the action or business of entertaining, and may refer to:
The word comes from the Latin inter tenere (“to hold inside”), which is itself from a contraction of a root derived from the Indo-European ten (“stretch”). From its beginnings in the Renaissance through today’s digital explosion, entertainment has evolved on many different levels. It can be a form of amusement for an individual, a party for two or a banquet for thousands. Entertainment also takes a more serious form, as in ceremonies, religious festivals and satire. It is a form of cultural exchange that crosses many different media.
