Entertaiment refers to entertainment, an audience-centered commercial culture that keeps individuals amused and diverted. It is a multi-disciplinary industry that encompasses motion picture, television, books, music, dance, branded entertainment and new media. Many familiar forms of entertainment are able to cross over the different genres of media and demonstrate a seemingly unlimited potential for creative remix, allowing a new generation to discover and enjoy old favorites. Entertainment evolves and can be adapted for any scale, from a personal iPod playlist to a banquet for two; from a theatrical performance for a large audience to an act of cruelty committed by a cult for the sake of entertainment.
